    Oblique FX is looking for a Senior Nuke Compositor for an immediate position.

    The senior Nuke Compositor is responsible for the compositing of digital and live elements, creating realistic and high quality shots. The person will have to collaborate with VFX supervisors and other VFX artists, as well as liaise with production staff in regards to assignments and deadlines, delivering high quality and coherent work throughout. Excellent artistic eye and technical skills required, attention to detail is a must.

    • Composite multiple types of shots, simple or difficult, using digital and live elements;
    • Collaborate with the visual effects supervisors and the team of artists to produce high quality work;
    • Report any potential technical problems to the supervisors that might disrupt the completion of work;
    • Take initiative, be flexible and make creative input when required;
    • Manage the workload to meet tight deadlines and the Oblique’s high quality standards;
    • Ability to follow directions given by the VFX Supervisor;
    • Have a strong eye for detail, composition, color and lighting;
    • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and know how to prioritize;
    • Be a good team worker and good communicator;
    • Be passionate.

    • Excellent knowledge of Nuke software;
    • Knowledge of 3D techniques and pipeline;
    • Proficiency in French an asset;
    • Minimum 5 year experience as a compositor in a previous visual effects company preferred.

    Oblique FX is looking for a VFX Coordinator to join the production team starting immediately.

    The VFX coordinator will assist the VFX Production team in the day-to-day operations.

    • Participating in the planning and managing of the delivery schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Prioritizing and assigning all shots within the department to ensure efficient workflow.
    • Scheduling and Prepping Dailies screenings throughout the day as needed.
    • Creating Shot Tracking docs and keeping the data accurate.
    • Running client viewing meetings and taking detailed notes to distribute to the artists.
    • Responsible for communication between all departments. Distributing information to the artists and team members, and updating the schedule.
    • Reporting to the VFX Supervisor and Production Manager with the status of all work within the department in a timely manner.
    • Managing and logging incoming elements, footage, data, notes, etc.
    • Responsible for coordinating FTP and shipping
    • Additional related tasks may be required

    • BS/BA preferred
    • Previous experience in VFX an asset
    • Knowledge of a production pipeline and VFX techniques an asset
    • Extremely high level of organization, detail-oriented, and follow through skills
    • Strong understanding of scheduling, and resource allocation
    • Knowledge of Shotgun, or other VFX scheduling program a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel, FileMaker Pro, Google Docs
    • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
    • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines
    • Proficiency in French and English is a must

    Oblique FX is looking for a Visual Effects Project Manager effective immediately.

    • Act as a central point of contact between the client and the VFX team, as well as between the departments within the company.
    • In collaboration with the VFX Supervisor and the General Manager, establish a production plan and schedule, while liaise with all shows to ensure prioritization of resources.
    • Assign work to artists, track progress of the project using Shotgun, and ensure work is on schedule and on budget and that it is meeting with the clients' requests.
    • Occasionally, establish a preliminary shot breakdown of a project and prepare a budget with the VFX Supervisor.
    • Work closely with the editing facility and, in a timely matter, dissect every version of offline edit and plate, to address any change that might affect the budget or the artists' work. Usually work as a VFX Editor to ensure proper in-house tracking.
    • Coordinate and execute all deliveries: incoming (plates, offline edits, references) and outgoing (approval files, final sequences).
    • Responsible for setting up dailies and all client review sessions and ensure review notes are shared with the team and entered in Shotgun.

    • College Degree or equivalent in Television and/or Cinema Production and/or Postproduction.
    • Good knowledge of a production pipeline and VFX techniques.
    • High level of organization and follow-through skills, while remaining flexible
    • Very detail-oriented and excel in tasks that require a lot of concentration
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and in English.
    • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
    • Upbeat personality and natural team worker.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of Shotgun or Filemaker Pro a plus.
    • Efficient in an editing software such as Sony Vegas, Premiere, Final Cut or Avid.
    • Good knowledge of codecs and other technical video specification.
